Dodital - Yamunotri Trek

Situated north of Uttarkashi at an elevation of 3024 m is Dodital Lake. Set in the midst of dense woods of oak, pine, deodar and rhododendrons with its lake is full of fish including some rare species like the Himalayan Golden Trout and forest full of wildlife, the Dodital Lake is totally astounding. The serene, tranquil surroundings, gurgling streams, crystal clear water, and dense alpine forests provide an idyllic set up for rest and recreational activities like bird-watching, angling, boating etc.

The source of the river Yamuna and one of the 4 'Dhams', Yamunotri at an altitude of 3,291 m is dominated by Banderpunch (6,361 m). The western most shrine in the Garhwal region, one has to trek Tour Bookingsome 13 kms from Hanuman chatti to reach the temple.

Drive to Kalyani through the picturesque Garhwal Mountains along the Ganges. Camp overnight by the side of river Asi Ganga

Day03:Kalyani-Dodital

Trek to the mysterious Dodital Lake through beautiful landscape of thick forests and steep cliffs. Stay overnight in Forest rest house and tents.

Day04:Dodital

Spend the day exploring the picturesque and scenic surroundings of the Dodital Lake. Camp overnight.

Day 5:Dodital- Seema

Trek to Seema. Overnight in tents.

Day 6: Seema- Hanumanchatti

Trek to Hanumanchatti (18 km / 2400 m). Overnight at Hanumanchatti.

Descend towards the Yamuna Valley. Set up camp for the night in the forest. Camp overnight in Tents.

Day 07 Midway Camp -Hanuman Chatti

Trek to Hanuman Chatti located on the banks of river Yamuna. Overnight in Forest Rest House.

Day 08: Hanuman Chatti-Yamnotri

Trek to the source of the river Yamuna- Yamnotri (3185m).

Trek down to the road-head and proceed by Jeep to the hill station Mussoorie. En-route visit Lakhamandal- a site associated with the heroes of the epic 'Mahabharata'. Overnight in Hotel at Mussoorie.

Day 10: Mussoorie-Delhi

Day at leisure to explore the town.

Day 11: Mussoorie- Delhi (230 km).
