The abode of the Nag Devta, Nagtibba offers an excellent view of the mountain peaks in all directions. To reach the top one has to pass through dense forest and it is advisable to take a guide, lest you get lost on the way. Accessible the year around, Nagtibba can be climbed from two sides. You can either go up by the Pantwari side or get down by the village of Devalsari or vice- a-versa.
ITINERARY ONE:
Delhi-Rishikesh - Pantwari - Nagtibba -
Devalsari –
Mussoorie- Delhi
( 7days/5-6 hours per day)
Day 1: Delhi-Rishikesh
Arrive at Rishikesh from Delhi. Visit Lakshmanjhula, Ramjhula and attend Ganga Aarti at one of the Ashram. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Pantwari
Drive135 kms to Pantwari via Mussoorie. Camp overnight at Pantwari.
Day 3: Nagtibba
10-km trek to Nagtibba. Overnight stay at Nagtibba.
Day 4: Nagtibba
3 kms trek to the top of Nagtibba. 3 km return trek to camp site in the evening. Night stay in Nagtibba.
Day 5: Devalsari
16 kms trek to Devalsari. Dinner & overnight in Devalsari.
Day 6: Thatyur – Mussoorie
8 kms trek to Thatyur. Then drive to Mussoorie. Halt
Day 7: Mussoorie- Delhi
Sightseeing in Mussoorie and arrival in New Delhi.
ITINERARY TWO:
Delhi - Mussoorie - Kuwa - Nanibagh - Pantwari - Nagtibba - Goriapadhar -Tatiyur - Mussoorie -
Dehradun - Delhi
(8 days)
Day 1: Delhi - Dehradun - Mussoorie
Leave Delhi for Mussoorie via Dehradun and halt.
Day 2: Mussoorie - Kuwa
Drive to Kuwa after breakfast. Enroute visit Kempty Falls. Set up camp on arrival at Kuwa and in the afternoon take a short 1 km trek to Lakhmandal temple. Trek back to camp for dinner & Overnight stay.
Day 3: Kuwa - Nanibagh - Pantwari
Drive back 15 kms from Kuwa to Nanibagh and begin the 9 km trek to Pantwari (1524m) - a picturesque village located on the banks of a stream and halt for the night.
Day 4: Pantwari - Nagtibba
Early morning, start trek to Nagtiba Forest rest house (2656m) through lush dense forests On arrival, pitch tents and rest for the night.
Day 5: Nagtibba - Goriapadhar
Begin the 3 kms trek to Nagtibba Top. Capture the captivating views of over 200 miles of the Himalayan ranges besides those of the valley & the surrounding areas. After lunch, start 8 kms trek to Goriapadhar (2435m) and halt.
Day 06: Goriapadhar - Thatyur
From Goriapadhar, begin the 13 kms downhill trek to Tatiyur situated at foot of the river Aglad - tributary of river Yamuna. On arrival pitch tents. Dinner & Overnight in Tents
Day 07: Thatyur - Mussoorie
After breakfast, drive 30kms to Mussorie. Reach in time for lunch and spend the day at leisure/sightseeing. Halt for the night.
Day 08: Dehradun - Delhi
Leave Mussoorie for Dehradun (40 kms) and visit the Indian Military Academy, Forest research institute, Sericulture center & the robbers cave Afternoon free. Leave for Delhi in the evening.
