
Nagarjunasagar Wildlife Sanctuary is a part of town Srisailam. The town itself is divided into three zones. The original pilgrim town, Srisailam. Center of age-old temples dedicated to Lord Malikarjuna and Goddess Bhramaramba, incarnations of Shiva and Parvati. Along the temple is a fairly stocked market place and also many pilgrim lodges. There is another ridge top where one can find many offices and eating houses. The place names Sunnipenta is approximately 8 km from the temple town. The offices here include office of Project tiger also and the field director. The third zone here is the dam site over Krishna river which is named as Srisailam Hydel Project. Nestling in the Nallamalai Hill ranges, an offshoot of the Eastern Ghats, with cliffs, gorges, ridges and plateaus, endowed there lies a variety of flora and fauna. Once flourishing ecological system existed here is now protected by the NSTR project now. The forest in this area was was always open to human beings without even having the benefit of being an erstwhile royal game preserve. Routes were carved through the forest by pilgrims to reach Srisailam. In 1973 this area was declared as as sanctuary and was taken under the Project Tiger.
Near Srisailam are grasslands of the Rollapadu with dry, thorny bushes and in home about a hundred blackbucks. One can see families of blackbuck from a distance who come out for their breakfast. Now the visi to Rollapadu Sanctuary is permitted during day time.
To reach Nagarjunasagar Wildlife sanctuary one can use any mode air, rail or road. The nearest airport is at Hyderabad which is 316 km away from Srisailam. Hyderabad itself is connected to many major cities in India including Delhi and Mumbai.
Srisailam is connected to Hyderabad and Markapur which 85 km from the place on the south central railway.
Srisailam 190 km from kurnool and 220 km from Guntur, 470 km from Chennai and 85 km from Mannanur.
At present t here are three guest houses/temples cottages are there with 248 beds in the forest area. And so the the availability of the place depends only once you visit the reserve.

Mannuaur is an old tribal hamlet. It has a comfortably furnished camp bungalow. Near to the bungalow is a crocodile pond and an environment education center. One can explore the corner of the tiger reserve from Mannanur. The forest area here dense with the miscellaneous timber species. Locally names as Nallamadi (Terminalia tomentosa), Chirumanu (Anogeissus latifolia), etc. There are also stretches of teak forest. One can also see spotted deers, sambars, and nilgais here. One can even find some historical monuments from 1 st and 2 nd century AD. There also is build a dam on the river Krishna.
